Nico Ghilardi currently serves as VP, Biology, at DiCE. In this role, he oversees all biology aspects of each project, from target selection to delivery of a candidate molecule to the development organization.
Prior to joining Dice in 2019, Nico spent more than 20 years in various roles of increasing responsibility at Genentech. His research interests are focused on immune-relevant cytokines and their signaling mechanisms. They are documented in 68 publications, spanning both basic research projects and drug development efforts. As a drug developer, Nico has advanced multiple molecules into clinical development in the autoimmune/inflammation space. Furthermore, Nico has extensive experience in the evaluation of Business Development opportunities and has been part of multiple licensing and acquisition deals.
Nico holds a Ph.D. in molecular and cellular biology from the University of Basel, Switzerland. He did his postdoc at Genentech, where he became an immunologist through his work on cytokines such as IL-23, IL-27 and IL-31.
